About the Artist

Murray grew up in rural Saskatchewan, Canada, where he discovered a love of drawing and creating art at an early age. In a quiet, small-town setting, he continued developing his artistic talent through distance-learning art lessons.

After a successful entrance application and exam, Murray was accepted into a four-year Fine Arts program in Calgary, Alberta. However, by the time the admission offer arrived, he had already committed to the Power Engineering Technology program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). As a result, his career took a different direction!

After a successful forty-year career in the power industry, Murray retired and returned to his true passion: creating art.

Since 2019, Murray has pursued formal art training under Gene Prokop at Pros Art School, continually refining his skills and artistic style. Through a weekly program alongside artists working in a variety of styles, he continues to hone his talent and connect with the artistic community.
